Emily Barnes, owner of Emilie Jane Fine Art Photography, is a professional photographer specializing in landscape fine art prints, surrealism composites and abstract photography. Emily’s journey began with the desire to capture the serene yet intricate beauty of the landscape around us by using a technique known as Long Exposure. However, Emily realised that though she loved this technique it didn’t quiet help convey her vision for some locations and the emotions they conjured up. With the belief that no one should be confined to any one particular style, her journey continued exploring what other techniques could be applied to achieve her vision and her portfolio expanded from traditional fine art prints to also include more artistic photography Before pursuing her professional photography career, Emily worked within the corporate sphere for a number of years. Emily discovered what gave her the most joy when working in the corporate sector was when she was teaching and mentoring others. Eventually Emily made the decision to establish her own business and taking her experience to support and educate others ‘An Unorthodox Photographer’ was also born. Here Emily shares her positive experiences and challenges as her photography journey evolved from personal to professional and the techniques she has come to use.
